Publications

Publications are used to make data available to the HxGN Smart Sites Client. Publications combine one or more Datasources, and let you configure styling and security settings.

Title​

The title to be used to name the Publication. This field is mandatory.

Thumbnail URL​

Provides the path to the thumbnail image used in the Publications catalogue.

Description​

Optional field to describe the Publication to the users.

SLD URL​

The path to the Styled Layers Descriptor file that is applied to the data. Note that this only impacts vector data. Raster data can be styled in LuciadFusion.

Datasources​

The list of Datasources that are made available via this Publication. Each Publication must have at least one Datasource. All Datasources must be of the same protocol.

Type to search for Datasources by name.

Tags​

A Publication can have one or more tags. Tags can be used to search for Publications in the catalogue.

Click the "x" to detach a tag from a Publication.

Orphan tags are automatically removed from the system.

Roles​

Roles restrict access to a Publication. Only users having one or more of the listed roles are able to access the configuration for this Publication. The roles are managed by Keycloak.

Performance management​

The Performance Management section is available on publications that contain 3D data.

Enable Performance Management to set the Performance Mode. The Performance Mode impacts the visibility of the data as the distance between the view point and the data increases. As said distance increases,

  • Choose OVERVIEW when you want the data to remain visible. This increases the load on the map engine as it has to keep rendering the data.
  • choose DETAIL when you want the data to disappear. This decreases the load on the map engine as it can discard data sooner.
